We Know the Release Date of the New Film by the Director of “Get Out!”

The portal World of Reel has both good and bad news for horror fans. The good news is that we finally know the release date of the new film by the creator of Get Out! and Nope!, Jordan Peele. The bad news, however, is that it won’t hit theaters for over a year and a half. According to American journalists, Universal has reserved an October 23, 2026, release date for the occasion.

Jordan Peele’s New Film Set for Late 2026

Initially, Peele’s fourth, still-untitled project was scheduled to premiere in U.S. theaters on December 25, 2024. However, this plan fell through due to the cancellation of summer filming, which did not take place because of the writers’ strike that disrupted Hollywood’s production schedule.

Interestingly, reports suggest that the canceled filming led Peele to rethink his concept for the film. The production, set to begin this year, will focus on an entirely different project than originally planned. As is typical for the director, we currently have no details about the plot or even the artistic direction of the film.

Nothing concrete is known about the cast either. In the past, rumors suggested that Janelle Monáe, Selena Gomez, Regina Hall, Steven Yeun, and Daniel Kaluuya might be involved. However, none of these names have been officially confirmed—not by the producers or even major American entertainment media.

The late October release date and Peele’s interests suggest a horror project. However, with each new film, the director has moved further away from traditional horror conventions. Will he completely abandon the genre this time, opting for a project in an entirely different style? We’ll find out closer to the second half of next year.
