Cinemas worldwide have calmed down, which worked in favor of Taylor Swift. Her concert film, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” ended the dominance of Chinese titles in our rankings, winning without significant issues.
Similar to the American box office, AMC did not provide a specific amount, but rather a range in which “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” opened. According to the cinema network, the concert film grossed 31-33 million dollars. Globally, this results in a range of 126-130 million dollars.
“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” dominated ticket sales in cinemas in the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Mexico, and the Philippines. The film’s performance for the week ahead should not be much worse, as it will be released in more countries, including Brazil and South Korea.
Meanwhile, “Paw Patrol: The Great Movie” is slowly gaining momentum. The animation reached another 11 countries and achieved its best weekend result, 21.2 million dollars. Foreign revenues have thus increased to 76.5 million dollars, and global revenues to 126.4 million.
“Paw Patrol: The Great Movie” had its best start in France, where it collected 4.5 million dollars in five days. The opening in the United Kingdom was 4.2 million dollars, in Poland – 2.4 million (first place in the local box office), and in Spain 1.9 million.
The leader of the previous two rankings in our list, “Jian Ru Pan Shi” (Under the Light), dropped to third place. Its weekend earnings were 14.2 million dollars, totaling 173.6 million dollars.
From third place to fourth, the horror film “The Exorcist: Confession” dropped. However, its revenues remained virtually unchanged due to the film’s release in another 15 countries. Weekend earnings are estimated at 13.7 million dollars. The horror film performed best in France (1.7 million dollars) and Brazil (1.5 million). “The Exorcist: Confession” has earned 40 million dollars outside the USA.
The next three places belong to Chinese productions. The fifth spot is occupied by the historical propaganda spectacle “Zhi Yuan Jun: Xiong Bing Chu Ji” (The Volunteers: To the War) with a result of 9.9 million dollars (almost identical to the previous week). The sixth place is taken by the romantic comedy “Qian Ren 4: Ying Nian Zao Hun” (The Ex-Files 4: Marriage Plan) with an amount of 9.3 million dollars. The seventh spot goes to the action comedy “Mosike Xingdong” (Moscow Mission), which earned 8.9 million dollars over the weekend.
Disney’s spectacle “The Creator” fell from the fifth to the eighth position. The studio reported weekend earnings of 5.9 million dollars. The film, currently showing in 50 countries, has earned 46.7 million dollars in those markets. Adding the amount from the United States, it reaches 79.1 million dollars.
Closing our ranking is “Unforgiven 3: The Final Chapter,” which collected 5.7 million dollars over the weekend. Foreign revenues currently amount to 86.1 million dollars, with global earnings at 176.7 million.
