It’s good enough: ‘Avatar 2’ has already beaten Star Wars before itstheatrical release

We have roughly been waiting for a sequel to James Cameron’s Avatar since its premiere way back in 2009. Now you can finally go to the cinema in December and see Avatar 2: The Way of Water.

Recently, the film’s first trailer landed online, after only being shown exclusively in cinemas before the screenings of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The trailer has already broken a wild record online with as many as 148.6 million views within the first 24 hours, which is more views than each of all the latest Star Wars movies (!).

Among other things. the trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was seen a total of 112.4 million times in the first 24 hours. It writes The Hollywood Reporter.

By comparison, however, F9: The Fast Saga garnered no less than an impressive 202.7 million online views in the first 24 hours, while Black Widow hit 116.8 million views and The Incredibles 2 had 113.1 million views in the first 24 hours.

James Cameron’s 2s will focus on the characters Jake and Neytiri as well as their family life with both biological and adopted children.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ again offers i.a. Zoë Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi and Stephen Lang, while Michelle Yeoh and Kate Winslet are new actors in the Avatar universe.

‘Avatar 2: The Way of Water’ premieres on December 14.
