Sequel to “Hogwarts Legacy” More Than Likely!

Released in 2023, Hogwarts Legacy, unlike Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League which came out a year later, turned out to be a major sales hit for Warner Bros. So it’s no surprise that during the launch of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, the company’s executives shared future plans related to games in this universe.
“It’s obvious that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is one of our top priorities for the coming years,” said Gunnar Wiedenfels, CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Warner Bros. Discovery, during an interview at the Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference organized by Bank of America.
As a reminder, Hogwarts Legacy was the best-selling game of 2023 in the United States, with over 22 million copies sold worldwide. We don’t know exactly how Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League performed, but the company’s comment about “disappointing” results says more than any specific data.

It seems the company’s leaders took note of the sales figures from their recent major productions and decided to follow the path that brought success. However, based on the statement from WBD’s CFO, we might have to wait a few more years for a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy.
