Rumors about a new, more powerful version of the PlayStation 5 have been circulating online for some time. Until now, these have mostly been speculations, but it seems that today they may either be confirmed or debunked. Sony has announced a special, technical showcase.
A short video published yesterday on platform X (formerly Twitter) doesn’t reveal much. The PlayStation 5 logo appears at the start, followed shortly by the phrase “the journey continues,” which may suggest that we will finally see the end of the rumors and speculations.

If the current “leaks” are to be believed, the PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to be 45% faster than the standard model. The new hardware is said to feature a more powerful GPU while retaining the same CPU with the possibility of increasing its clock speed. Additionally, it will include new, faster memory—28% faster (a jump from 448 GB/s to 576 GB/s). The console is also expected to feature a proprietary upscaling system developed by Sony.

Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that the graphic posted by PlayStation to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary contains an element strikingly similar to a sketch of the rumored console. However, the most important question remains—if not the PS5 Pro, what else could we see during today’s presentation? Let us know in the comments.
