“Unfortunately, it’s not enough for fans to jump straight into the new season of “The Mandalorian” after the emotional finale of season 2. We’ll tell you what you might have missed.”

Warning: Season 2 spoilers for The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett follow!

Season 3 of The Mandalorian will finally continue on March 1, 2023, on Disney+ (you can subscribe here). More than two years after the emotional split between Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda), fans of the hit “Star Wars” series must be eager to know if the two will ever get back together.

However, they have already been reunited for some time. If you only follow “The Mandalorian” and ignore the other “Star Wars” series, you may have missed this development. That’s why we want to update you on the current status of the popular duo and what to expect in Season 3 of “The Mandalorian”. The following trailer provides a sneak peek into the upcoming episodes:

That’s how Din Djarin and Grogu found each other again

The spin-off series “The Book of Boba Fett” surprised fans by continuing the story of their beloved “Star Wars” characters. The plan of “The Mandalorian” creators Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau to build a coherent universe consisting of several new series first came to fruition in Episode 5 of “The Book of Boba Fett,” appropriately titled “Return of the Mandalorian.” The episode was directed by “The Mandalorian” veteran Bryce Dallas Howard.

In this episode, we saw Din Djarin continuing his job as a bounty hunter alone after leaving Grogu, and returning to the gunsmith (Emily Swallow) after completing a job. She explained to him the significance of the darksaber he had taken from Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), and taught him the basics of how to use the unique lightsaber. The armorer also confessed to Din Djarin that he had violated their code by removing his helmet in front of other living beings. She demanded that he wash himself clean in the waters of the Mandalorian mines on Mandalore. However, Djarin pointed out that the mines on the devastated Mandalorian home planet were destroyed. The armorer’s response was eloquent: “That’s the way.”

The mission for Din Djarin in season 3 of “The Mandalorian” is clear: he must follow the arch-conservative codex of some Mandalorians and go to the mines of Mandalore. Fortunately, he’s not embarking on this journey alone, as “The Book of Boba Fett” revealed what happened next for Grogu. His training as a Jedi by Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) was short-lived, in which Grogu’s foster father played his part. Din Djarin gave the youngling a small chain shirt made of the valuable metal Beskar, which prompted Luke to give Grogu a choice: Din Djarin’s gift and thus the abandonment of his training or Yoda’s lightsaber and thus the continuation of his training.

In the spirit of the fans, Grogu chose gate number 1 and then returned to Tatooine in an X-wing piloted by R2-D2. There, Din Djarin was helping Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) win a gang war. We’ll spare you the details here, but it’s important to know that Din Djarin does use the darksaber in battle, but he can’t fully control it yet. Meanwhile, Grogu has become quite capable of impressive things with the help of the Force, such as putting a rampaging rancor to sleep.

Fix the grammar : In terms of cast, there are three more personal details you need to know about Season 3:

  • Moff Gideon may be rid of the darksaber, but he will still be involved and will no doubt pose a major threat.
  • Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze also returns, and in turn has her sights set on the darksaber in order to claim the rulership of Mandalore in accordance with tradition. But since she is friendly towards Mando, this should lead to an interesting conflict.
  • Cara Dune, on the other hand, is no longer there because Disney no longer wanted to continue working with her actress Gina Carano after numerous misconduct and gaffes.
