During Cinema Con, Paramount confirmed that a prequel to “A Quiet Place” is on its way. The “Pig” director’s prequel will hit theaters in September 2023.
Michael Sarnoski, most recently with Nicolas Cage’s film “Pig”, has been hired to direct the next part of the “A Quiet Place” series. The title of the new film will be “A Quiet Place: Day One”, which suggests that we get to see more of how the whole misery with the sound-sensitive aliens began.
In the previous “A Quite Place” films, we have had to follow the Abbott family, with the Hollywood couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt in the lead roles. The family lives in isolation and tries to make the everyday puzzle work while aliens ravage the earth. John Krasinski directed both films, and will not return to direct this prequel. However, there will be a proper sequel to the series, called “A Quiet Place Part III” in 2025, which “The Office” actress is expected to direct, writes Entertainment Weekly.
“A Quiet Place: Day One”, thus becoming a prequel to the original films. How Michael Sarnoski chooses to take the film series further will be exciting to see, after the feature film debut “Pig” – who follows Nicolas Cage in search of his missing pig – has been hailed.
“A Quiet Place: Day One” will be released in theaters on September 22, 2023.
