First “Jurassic World 4” Trailer Kicks Off the Hunt for the Biggest Dinosaurs in a New Action Spectacle

After the disappointing conclusion of the last Jurassic World trilogy for many fans, a fresh start is now on the horizon. The first trailer gives us a glimpse of what’s to come.

In 2015, dinosaurs made a spectacular return to theaters worldwide with Jurassic World, raking in a massive $1.671 billion at the global box office. This proved that even 22 years after Jurassic Park, dino-mania could still be reignited (via Box Office Mojo). However, just like with the original ’90s films, the sequels failed to fully meet the high expectations they had set. In fact, Jurassic World: Dominion holds a rather underwhelming IMDb rating of just 5.6 stars.

Despite this disappointment, the third installment still managed to gross over $1 billion, making it unsurprising that Universal, the studio behind the franchise, wasn’t willing to let this lucrative series rest for long. Just three years after what was marketed as the grand finale of the Jurassic World saga, the story continues: Jurassic World: Rebirth is set to hit German theaters on July 2, 2025.

The recently released first trailer gives us a taste of what’s to come:

The Story of Jurassic World: Rebirth

The latest installment takes place five years after the events of the previous Jurassic World film. The so-called “new era” that was teased did not fully materialize—dinosaurs have been unable to thrive on our planet and are slowly facing extinction once again. Only in a relatively small area near the equator has a population of various dinosaur species managed to survive.

A pharmaceutical company has set its sights on these remaining dinosaurs, believing that the DNA of the three largest species holds the key to developing a powerful new drug.

To obtain the DNA samples, the company hires Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), an expert in undercover operations. Along with her longtime ally Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali), paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey), and a few other daring individuals, she embarks on a journey into the dinosaurs’ new habitat. But as expected, not everyone will make it out alive…
