Eric Antoine is one of the leading figures on M6. While he hosts several shows on the channel, he announces that he has made a big decision. This comes one month after his marriage to Gennifer Demey, also a star of M6.
A new life for Eric Antoine. In spring 2023, he announced his divorce from Calista, mother of his two boys: Raphael, born in 2010, and Ulysse, who arrived in 2013. Two years later, the 49-year-old host celebrated his wedding with his new partner, Gennifer Demey, 16 years his junior. This represents a personal change, compounded by a reorganization of his professional schedule. Traitors, The Price is Right, Lego Masters, Wheel of Fortune, France’s Got Talent… Eric Antoine is in charge of several programs. And at the same time, the magician and comedian is taking to the stage. An intense pace that is no longer possible. So, the time has come to make decisions.
Eric Antoine has chosen to sacrifice one of his shows after five seasons, as he announced to our colleagues at Puremédias: “I will continue to film all Wheels of Fortune since we are continuing with the daily series. We are returning to a second season of 99 to Beat, which did very well last summer. Traitors continues to be a hit between broadcasts and returns, and France’s Got Talent too. The only one that won’t be returning will be Lego Masters.” So why this choice? “We find it doesn’t attract the audience we want. It’s a very ambitious show, because it takes a month to film just four shows. Usually, we film a prime time show in one or two days, but this one takes a month to film four, so five weeks of filming. It’s a very expensive show, and I think we’ve unfortunately been a bit of a loop. Seeing people laying bricks lasted a while. But now, once you’ve seen the surprise, once you’ve discovered the very high level, I think you see the very high level a second time, you see the very high level a third time… it’s a little less exciting in the end,” explains the man who is preparing for a third wedding ceremony with his wife, Gennifer Demey.
Eric Antoine is withdrawing from certain shows: Lego Masters is over, The Price is Right will return later.
Eric Antoine “will therefore end this adventure,” as he himself indicates. And with regret: “It’s a shame, because I think it was a show that brought the family together a lot and was great to watch together… But it’s no longer successful enough.” He recently indicated his need to step back from some of his shows. Thus, to our colleagues at Télé-Loisirs, he reminded us that he will be in the theater in 2026 for a new “illusionist humor” show. A project to which he wishes to devote time. And for that, the one who opened up about his eating disorders had already made a decision: “The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune, I can’t do both at the same time. So I don’t think The Price is Right will come back right away. But I’ll keep everything else going while I’m in the theater.” The Price is Right will come back later, but Lego Masters is well and truly over.
