“Avatar: The Last Airbender” – What is it about?
The series produced by Netflix is a live-action version of the 2005 anime “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” The action takes place in a world divided into four kingdoms corresponding to the four elements: Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. In each of these nations, there are people who have the power to control a specific element through telekinesis. The titular boy, the Avatar, is the only one in the world who can manipulate all four elements.
Gordon Cormier plays the titular role in the series.
Within the first few days of its premiere on Netflix, “Avatar” was watched by over 40 million viewers, and the series has been on the list of the most-watched programs on the platform for the past two weeks.
According to the plans, the two upcoming seasons will be filmed in a short time frame to minimize noticeable age differences among the young actors.
It is not yet known how many episodes the upcoming seasons will have. The first season consists of eight episodes.
