Fix the grammar: The actor announced the shooting date and that he will have a “double role” in the long-awaited film . There are still a few months left before filming begins on the third installment of Deadpool, and so far few details have been revealed about the plot of the film. However, it seems that this has changed after a recent statement made by Hugh Jackman to a French media outlet, in which he revealed important information about the upcoming movie. The actor announced that multiple versions of his Wolverine character will be seen in the new story. The production, which stars the irreverent superhero, is set to hit theaters on November 8, 2024.

In a recent interview with Le Parisien magazine, which took place during the promotion of his latest film, The Son, Jackman apparently revealed a big spoiler about the plot of Deadpool 3 and the role he will play. “In the film, I will have a double role. Ryan and I have been friends for twenty years and we have a lot of fun together. We will shoot the movie this summer,” the Australian actor explained. Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, and he will be joined by none other than Hugh Jackman, who returns as Wolverine for the first time since 2017’s Logan.

Production for this new installment of the Deadpool saga is expected to begin in May. Just a few days ago, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the third installment of this Marvel superhero will be filmed in the United Kingdom, marking the first time that this franchise will be filmed in that location. Other details that have been revealed in recent weeks include new additions to the cast, such as Emma Corrin (from The Crown). Although her role has not been revealed, it was announced that she will play one of the villains in the story.

In his brief statement, Jackman delivered two pieces of news. The first was about when the film would begin shooting, while the second (and more significant) was about the “double character”. This has sparked speculation among fans and experts, who are considering the possibility that Wolverine could have multiple versions of his character in Deadpool 3, possibly from different realities or timelines. This would be similar to what happened with Spider-Man in No Way Home.

In addition, rumors have been circulating for a few months that Deadpool 3 will be an adaptation of the Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe comics and its sequel, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again. These comics, created in 2012 and 2017, respectively, explore the possibility of different realities. Plot details for the movie have been kept secret, but it is said that the protagonist will travel through different timelines and dimensions, which could allow him to interact with other Marvel heroes or revisit events from previous X-Men films. The first two Deadpool movies were produced by 20th Century Fox before The Walt Disney Company acquired the studio. However, the new film is being written as a story set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool 3 will be based on a script by Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin (both from Bob’s Burgers), Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick. “The third film in my trilogy with Levy will be a bit more poignant,” Reynolds wrote in the caption of a fanart that brought together Deadpool, Guy, and Adam. The director of the third film promised that it “will have a good dose of violence and will retain the essence of the previous movies.”

Before the third installment of the franchise is released, fans can enjoy Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018) on Disney+.
