The new Marvel movie is going at full speed towards cinema revenue of one billion dollars.
Marvel’s latest superhero adventure is a quick hit at the cinema. After just two weekends, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” has grossed $ 688 million in theaters. Thus, it is already about the first “Doctor Strange”, which pulled in 677 million globally when it was released in 2016.
Not a bad start for the new MCU roll that will step into the “billion club” maybe already this month. In that case, it will be the 50th film ever to achieve a billion-dollar cinema revenue.
Sam Raimi has directed the film which takes Benedict Cumberbatch’s wizard into a scary multiverse of monsters and witches. Also starring are Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, newcomer Xochitl Gomez and some unexpected cameo roles.
Next in line from Marvel Studios is “Thor: Love and Thunder” which opens in Sweden in early July.
