First Marvel trailer for “Deadpool 3” shows the best buddy duo of the MCU, action and humor galore

When the first trailer for “Deadpool & Wolverine/ Deadpool 3” appears, even avid American football fans momentarily forget about the Super Bowl.

The annual Super Bowl is also a feast for film fans worldwide, as Hollywood flexes its muscles and showcases with crisp trailers what the cinema audience can expect, especially in the hot summer this year. Undoubtedly one of the biggest highlights of the year will be “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Not only is it the only film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2024 – the last time this happened was in 2012 with “Marvel’s The Avengers” – it will also mark the grand debut of two of the most beloved Marvel characters in the MCU: Wade Wilson alias Deadpool and Logan alias Wolverine.

They are embodied by two of the most popular Hollywood stars of our time, who know exactly how to interact with their fans on social media and how to generate a cult following, such as through a supposed online feud with outrageous banter. We’re talking about Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. One was considered box office poison before Deadpool, the other established his entire career with Wolverine. Reynolds and Jackman owe a lot to their Marvel roles. And they pay it back a thousandfold – with a buddy action spectacle of superlatives even for the MCU. What it looks like is shown in the very first teaser trailer for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which was unveiled during Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers:

“Deadpool 3” marks the third collaboration between Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, currently represented in cinemas with the espionage action comedy “Argylle,” has already been vigorously promoting “Deadpool & Wolverine.” He has already seen some clips, he revealed on the “Post Credit” podcast, and they are incredible:

“This will be the jolt… the Marvel Universe will get a jolt from them and it will bring this organism back to life…”

And he wasn’t exaggerating. The rapid teaser trailer is simply unbelievably good and generates anticipation on so many levels. As was already gleaned from numerous pieces of information beforehand, Wade Wilson alias Deadpool this time falls into the crosshairs of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), familiar to MCU fans especially from the Disney+ series “Loki.” They obviously need his help or want him to clean up his own mess. However, what they don’t tell him is that it won’t be a walk in the park for him, because there’s a particularly ill-tempered individual with whom no one from the entire multiverse would willingly mess. Fan service is paramount in this teaser trailer. The best Easter Egg: Peter is back!!!

Directing this MCU film alongside Reynolds’ new filmmaking partner in crime Shawn Levy, with whom he has already realized “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project.” And the next projects are already in sight, as they will collaborate again on “Boy Band.” In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Jennifer Garner, Rob Delaney, Matthew Macfadyen, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapicic, and Emma Corrin will also be joining.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” hits theaters in Germany on July 24, 2024
