First trailer of “Despicable Me 4” shows: The franchise remains simply unimprovable!

It’s not over yet for Gru and the Minions. The film’s release in summer 2024 has been confirmed for some time, the wait has been long. The first trailer rekindles the anticipation.

On July 6, 2017, “Despicable Me 3” hit cinemas and since then, not much has happened regarding the fourth installment of the “Despicable Me” series. For what feels like an eternity, the film has been listed on the IMDb film database with an unknown plot, essentially remaining announced and nothing else. This has truly changed by now, and fans will henceforth be eagerly looking forward to this year.

Finally, the first trailer for “Despicable Me 4” has been released. A ray of hope in the world of animation is getting offspring. Let’s celebrate this joyful news. The child seems to have turned out well, as seen in the trailer, the little boy follows in his father’s footsteps. But rest assured, the Minions will surely not be shortchanged in the next film, and we do not assume, or rather hope, that their best scenes have already been exhausted with the first trailer. See for yourselves and look forward to the cinema release this year!

When is the cinema release? New animated films of the “Despicable Me” series were released in German cinemas in the summers of 2010, 2013, and 2017, respectively. So, a fourth installment of the “Despicable Me” series could have been released after three to four years, i.e., in summer 2020 or 2021, but that didn’t happen. “Despicable Me 4” will premiere on July 11, 2024, in German cinemas. Chris Renaud directs, who also directed the first two films. Patrick Delage will work on the film alongside him, and the screenplay is by Mike White. In the original version, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Steve Coogan, Steve Carell, and Miranda Cosgrove lend their voices to the protagonists.
