Jack Black will be starring alongside Jason Momoa. The actor and musician, known for voicing Bowser in the animated film “Super Mario Bros. Film,” will be a star in another adaptation of a popular video game – “Minecraft.”
What do we know about the movie “Minecraft”?
Filming for the live-action adaptation of “Minecraft,” featuring Jason Momoa, Matt Berry, and Jack Black, is set to begin soon in New Zealand. Details of the plot are not yet known. Jared Hess will be directing the production. He previously had the opportunity to work with Black on the set of the sports comedy “Nacho Libre.” The film, a joint project of Warner Bros. and Legendary, is set to hit cinema screens on April 4, 2025.
“Minecraft” is a popular video game that combines elements of combat and survival with exploring a vast map. The entire open world, almost entirely modifiable by the player, is made up of distinctive cubic blocks. Work on the movie adaptation began over a decade ago. Prior to Jared Hess taking on the director’s role, Shawn Levy (the “Night at the Museum” series) and Rob McElhenney (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) were speculated to direct.
