Johnny Depp is back with a new Hollywood project, bringing a reunion with a co-star that’s sure to delight many fans.
In recent years, we haven’t seen much of Johnny Depp in films and series, as he was occupied with the legal case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Alongside the comedic fantasy film The Carnival at the End of Days, in which Depp will play Satan, fans of the 61-year-old actor can now look forward to another project.
According to Variety, Johnny Depp will star in the action thriller Day Drinker. The film follows a bartender who meets a stranger on a cruise ship. The two protagonists discover that their fates are intricately intertwined, leading them into a web of criminal intrigue.
Marc Webb, known for directing The Amazing Spider-Man, will helm Day Drinker, showcasing his knack for staging impressive action sequences. Adam Fogelson, chairman of Lionsgate, said in the announcement:
“Day Drinker combines a highly commercial concept with wild, outrageous twists set in an incredible world. There is no better filmmaker than Marc, or two perfectly cast actors like Johnny and Penélope, to bring this world to life.”
