According to Deadline, “Joker: Folie à Deux” will arrive on Max next week, on December 13. This means the film will be available to platform users at no additional cost. A television broadcast on HBO is scheduled for the following day.
A Reminder of the Film’s Rough Start
“Joker: Folie à Deux,” which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival, had a disastrous debut in U.S. cinemas. Box office numbers after the second weekend were even worse. According to analyses commissioned by Variety, Todd Phillips’ film is projected to have caused Warner Bros. and other investors losses of around $200 million. However, the studio has remained skeptical of these claims, citing a planned release in China and expected revenues from digital and TV distribution.
