Martha! Superman’s Adoptive Mother Chosen

The photos for the film “Superman” have shifted to Georgia, and more new actors are appearing on set. Yesterday we learned the name of the actor chosen to portray Superman’s adoptive father. Today, we know the actress who will play the mother.

James Gunn went in a different direction than Zack Snyder and chose an actress for the role of Martha Kent who isn’t widely known. Neva Howell is taking over from Diane Lane from the previous DC universe.

Howell hails from Georgia, where filming for “Superman” is currently underway. You may have seen her in minor roles in films such as “Reach for the Sky”, “Logan Lucky”, and “The Novice”.

As we learned yesterday, her husband in the spectacle will be played by Pruitt Taylor Vince. David Corenswet will portray the titular hero.

The cast also includes: Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
