Officially! “Fallout” will be continued

Everyone knew this even before the premiere of the series on the Prime platform, but Amazon has just confirmed that “Fallout” will be continued. The creators have been given permission to produce a second season.

The gigantic budget of the series

“Fallout” is one of Amazon’s most expensive productions. The budget amounts to a staggering $153 million. And it was because of the high costs that we found out the series would continue before the studio officially announced it.

All thanks to the California Film Commission. In early April, they announced a list of projects that would receive funding for being produced in the state. The biggest beneficiary turned out to be “Fallout,” which received a grant of $25 million.

This means that the series crew must move to California for the production of the second season. The first season was shot in New York and Utah.

About the “Fallout” series

The series is set in a post-nuclear war Los Angeles. After the apocalypse, people must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits. The production is set in the world known from the video game series of the same title.

The showrunners of the series are Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner. The first five episodes were directed by Jonathan Nolan, who, along with his wife Lisa Joy, is also a producer of the series. The main roles are played by Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Aaron Moten.
