On Sunday, March 10, 2024, it’s once again “And the Oscar goes to…” as the famous film award is presented for the 96th time in the night to Monday. Thus, the awards ceremony falls again on the second Sunday in March. The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles will once again serve as the venue, as has been tradition since 2002 – with the exception of 2021, when the ceremony was altered due to the pandemic.

Oscars 2024: Broadcast of the Ceremony Live on TV and Stream Naturally, the Oscars 2024 will be broadcast live in Germany as well. Just like in previous years, you can watch the Oscar ceremony, including pre-show coverage, live from 9:30 PM on the night of March 10th to March 11th on free-to-air TV on ProSieben and simultaneously via stream on Joyn. The “Oscar Countdown” starts at 11:25 PM German time, and the live broadcast of the 96th Academy Awards begins at midnight.
After the ceremony, the Oscars are usually available on-demand on Joyn’s stream. For those who don’t want to stay up all night, you can watch the highlights of the Oscars 2024 on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 5:00 PM on ProSieben.
Jimmy Kimmel will once again host the Oscars in 2024, having previously hosted the ceremony in 2023, 2018, and 2017. Apart from that, we can expect to see many familiar stars on stage as presenters. It’s customary for some of the previous year’s winners to present the Oscars. Therefore, we can expect to see, among others, Brendan Fraser (Best Actor 2023 for “The Whale”), Michelle Yeoh (Best Actress 2023 for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Ke Huy Quan (Best Supporting Actor 2023 for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”), and Jamie Lee Curtis (Best Supporting Actress 2023 for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”). Additionally, this year’s presenters include Nicolas Cage, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Zendaya.
The five nominated performers in the category “Best Song” (see below) will provide musical entertainment at the Academy Awards. Ryan Gosling, Jon Batiste, Becky G., Scott George, and the Osage Singers, as well as Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, will perform on stage.
