“Peaky Blinders” Movie: Cillian Murphy Returns – Filming Starts in Autumn

While “Peaky Blinders” concludes with Season 6, a movie is set to crown the series with a worthy finale. Get all the details about the “Peaky Blinders” movie here.

Just over two years ago, the final episode of “Peaky Blinders” aired on Netflix. Although the season didn’t end with a similarly thrilling cliffhanger as the previous one, it left a few questions unanswered. However, a seventh season is not on the table to provide these answers. Instead, series creator Steven Knight has announced a movie that will give the story a fitting conclusion.

You can catch “Peaky Blinders” and other exciting crime series in the Sky package including Netflix – book now and save.

“Peaky Blinders” Movie: Start Not much is known yet, but it’s confirmed that Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby. Additionally, Knight recently announced (via Variety) that filming for the “Peaky Blinders” movie is set to begin in September 2024. With some luck, we can expect the finished result by summer or autumn 2025.

“Peaky Blinders” Movie: Plot and Cast While Steven Knight hasn’t expressed specifics yet, the ending of the series provides some clues about the content. After the seemingly inevitable death of Tommy at the end of the sixth season, he stayed true to his reputation and realized just before his intended demise that he wasn’t actually terminally ill. He spared the doctor responsible for the fabricated tuberculosis diagnosis (for now) – will there still be revenge against those who ordered it? Considering the approaching death, Tommy only wanted to finish one last job and organize his legacy, clearing the way for a righteous life. However, his “last job” might drag on as he targets the far-right Oswald Mosley, his wife, and their American ally. Additionally, it remains intriguing to see how the mood in Birmingham evolves during the impending Second World War, whether Ada can withstand further hostilities, and how the remaining Shelby offspring will position themselves.

Apart from Murphy, we also anticipate the return of the Shelby siblings Arthur (Paul Anderson) and Ada (Sophie Rundle), and Mosley’s return, played by Sam Claflin, is also probable. We’ll keep you updated on confirmations and new additions.

“Peaky Blinders” Change of Plans: No Season 7 Fans had long assumed that a seventh season of the historical crime series was forthcoming. However, due to the pandemic, those plans had to be scrapped or adjusted. Therefore, the news that “Peaky Blinders” ends with Season 6 was somewhat easier to digest, as it simultaneously fueled anticipation for the upcoming movie. Let’s hope the film progresses as swiftly as Knight has promised.
