“Fast & Furious 10” really brings the whole family together: The start of the finale of the action fireworks will apparently offer a surprise appearance.
Producer and leading actor Vin Diesel had repeatedly emphasized how important it was to him to gather everyone in front of and behind the camera for the big bombast finale of the long-lived “Fast & Furious” series, which they have brought together over the course of more than 20 years made one of the most successful film series in cinema history. It’s hard to believe, but what Universal Pictures has put together here is on par with Disney and Marvel Studios’ Marvel Cinematic Universe in terms of profitability: With 10 films to date, if you count the spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”, the series has grossed a total of 6.6 billion US dollars worldwide, with “Fast & Furious 9” being slowed down quite a bit by the corona pandemic.
Now the thrill of speed that has become a film has reached the home straight, with “Fast & Furious 10” and “Fast & Furious 11” the saga about the main character and patriarch Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel) will find its well-deserved end. Diesel had repeatedly emphasized that if possible he wanted to gather the entire “almost family” around him in order to be able to celebrate the finale all the more emotionally. Even Paul Walker, who starred as Brian O’Conner in a total of six “Fast & Furious” and died in a fatal accident in 2013, will be there in spirit through a cameo appearance by his daughter Meadow Walker, as she announced on Instagram:

– Warning: Potentially huge spoilers for Fast & Furious 10 follow! –
With Han (Sung Kang), one of the most popular characters has already returned in “Fast & Furious 9” that even Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw will play a role in “Fast & Furious 10” has been revealed in the latest trailer. After all, Han and Deckard Shaw still have unfinished business. But even the die-hard fans may never have expected a return: As The Wrap has learned, even Dwayne Johnson is said to have an appearance in the upcoming start of the two-part finale, albeit only a cameo appearance in an end credits scene, as it is said. Are you surprised, excited and can’t wait any longer? Then watch the trailer for “Fast & Furious 10” to get in the mood.
“Fast & Furious 10”: Was it all just a PR stunt?
A surprising turnaround, that’s for sure. After all, the two action stars had fallen out on the set of “Fast & Furious 8” and their feud was public. In the end, the two parted ways and each of them took every opportunity to badmouth the other. Clearly, Fast & Furious seems to only have room for one giant ego. Still, Diesel asked his former co-star via Instagram in November 2021 to put all differences aside and return to the folds of the “almost family” for the grand finale. But not without a little dig, so he addressed Johnson as “My little brother Dwayne.”
What’s more, Diesel explained to Men’s Health that he deliberately provoked the argument with Johnson at the time in order to tease the last ounce of acting out of him. This in turn did not let him sit down and then emphasized his final departure from the main series. He was displeased that Diesel brought his children into the game. That just shows his manipulative nature, Johnson told CNN.
The fact that he is now supposedly back on board should leave quite a few fans with a stale aftertaste. Diesel may have managed to sway Johnson after all, with recent box office flops Black Adam and Jungle Cruise, which you can stream on Disney+, likely being a factor. Johnson needs another hit and the fact that the “Fast & Furious” series is nearing the end could attract a lot of fans to the cinemas again.
But there’s also room for the whole thing to have been a set-up from the start. It shouldn’t be a coincidence that the dispute between Diesel and Johnson is said to have escalated before “Fast & Furious 8”, in which a thematically similar plot takes place. This supposed dispute also benefited the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw.
And basically, the cameo appearance in the end credits scene for “Fast & Furious 10”, which has now been leaked in advance, appears almost identical to “Black Adam”. There, Johnson caused huge excitement among fans by announcing that Henry Cavill would be returning as Superman. Without this headline, box office earnings might have been a little lower. So if that’s true with the mini appearance, Johnson could possibly play a bigger role in “Fast & Furious 11”.
“Fast & Furious 10” will start in cinemas in Germany on May 18, 2023.
