Shrek 5 is set to hit theaters on December 23, 2026. The film is directed by Walt Dohrn (Trolls) and Brad Ableson (Minions: The Rise of Gru). The plot remains a secret for now.

The animated film follows the adventures of the titular ogre (Mike Myers), who is hired by Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) to rescue a princess trapped in a castle—only to unexpectedly find love.
