Theft on the set of the movie “Beetlejuice 2.” What’s gone?

The set of “Beetlejuice 2,” located in Vermont, has been robbed, and the police are searching for the culprits. Photos of a characteristic sculpture that fell prey to thieves were posted on social media.

The stolen sculpture from the set of the sequel is a work of art created by Delia Deetz, played by Catherine O’Hara, which fans of “Beetlejuice” will recognize. The officers wrote, “We tried to say the name of the stolen sculpture three times, but it didn’t come back!” The investigation is focused on the theft of this 150lb sculpture, along with the pumpkin-shaped lantern that also disappeared from the set in East Corinth.

The sequel to “Beetlejuice” has been in development for over three decades. Tim Burton was rumored to be involved in the project in 2013-2015, with Michael Keaton set to reprise his role as Beetlejuice. Winona Ryder joined the cast in 2015, and filming was expected to begin soon after. However, in 2016, Tim Burton denied his interest in making the film. In 2021, there were rumors again, but the project did not progress further. It seems like a long and uncertain journey towards the sequel to the cult classic “Beetlejuice.”
