Chalamet in an Adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The project will be a new adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the 1820 short story by Washington Irving. The tale has been adapted for the big screen multiple times, with the most famous version being Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow from 1999.
Chalamet is reportedly set to play Ichabod Crane, a young man who arrives in Sleepy Hollow as a schoolteacher. There, he falls in love with the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel. However, Katrina has another suitor—a local brute known as Brom Bones.
At a party hosted by the Van Tassels, the two men compete for Katrina’s attention. Ichabod tries to win her over with his dancing and singing, while Brom boasts about his heroic exploits, including an encounter with the Headless Horseman. Ichabod, a man of reason, dismisses such ghostly tales as nonsense. But his skepticism of the supernatural will have dire consequences…
Reportedly, Ichabod will be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, known for his work on several seasons of American Horror Story.
