Warner splashed the cash! Timothée Chalamet another star of the studio

The new leadership of Warner Bros. is expanding its stable of stars. Recently, they managed to attract Tom Cruise. Now they have signed a contract with the highest-grossing star of recent months, Timothée Chalamet.

The star of “Wonka” and “Dune” will stay at Warner Bros.

Timothée Chalamet has delivered two major box office hits for Warner Bros. in recent months. “Wonka,” released in theaters at the end of last year, grossed $632 million worldwide.

Meanwhile, “Dune: Part Two” conquered cinemas in recent weeks. So far, the sci-fi spectacle has earned $577.3 million worldwide. It currently remains the highest-grossing premiere of 2024.

The new contract guarantees Chalamet participation in future major studio productions. The star will also be able to produce his own projects in collaboration with WB. The amount of the multi-year contract has not been disclosed, but it is certainly substantial, considering what we know about other similar agreements made in recent months.

Tom Cruise, Paul Thomas Anderson, and others. Warner Bros. is acquiring stars

The deal with Chalamet is part of a new strategy introduced by Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, who have been the heads of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group since 2022. According to this strategy, the studio is to enter into long-term contracts for collaboration with actors and creators whom it considers to be major Hollywood stars.

As part of this strategy, Paul Thomas Anderson received $175 million for his new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio. This is why Tom Cruise returned to the studio and will star in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s first serious drama in years.

Also in the WB stable are Rian Johnson, Ryan Coogler, and Michael B. Jordan, as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal with the film “Frankenstein,” starring Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley.
