The streaming giant Netflix has some good news for fans of Juliusz Machulski. His “Vinci 2”, the continuation of the crime hit starring Robert Więckiewicz and Borys Szyc, will arrive on the platform soon. It will join Netflix’s virtual library on October 8.
Let’s recall that “Vinci 2” enjoyed considerable interest in Polish cinemas. The sequel by Juliusz Machulski drew 160,000 viewers during its opening weekend. The strong start translated into a satisfying performance in the following weeks — to date, the film has gathered an audience of 670,000 cinema-goers.
In “Vinci 2”, Cuma (Robert Więckiewicz), a retired master thief, leads a quiet life on Andalusian coast in Spain. Unexpectedly he receives a proposal for another heist. He refuses — until he learns that Chudy (Mirosław Haniszewski), his former partner turned rival, plans the biggest robbery in Krakow, and this time without him. Worse still, the new team is young, fast, confident, and works without sentiment (Piotr Witkowski, Jędrzej Hycnar).
For Cuma it’s more than a challenge — it’s personal. He comes back to prove he’s still the number one thief, to reclaim respect and settle scores. Together with old friends (Borys Szyc, Kamilla Baar, Jacek Król) and his newly formed crew (Zofia Jastrzębska, Jan Sałasiński), Cuma enters the game on his own terms. The plan? Simple: steal what others plan to steal, and do it better.
Things quickly spiral out of control. The problem is, nobody here plays fair. Cuma becomes a target of a stubborn cop (Łukasz Simlat) and a ruthless FBI agent — once Commissioner Wilk (Marcin Dorociński) — who returns to Krakow with a mission and old grudges. The game of high stakes begins — full of deceit, surprises, and master tricks.
