Known for roles in “Minari” and the series “Awantura,” Steven Yeun had to leave “Thunderbolts.” The official reason is unknown, although it is most likely due to a scheduling conflict. With filming for the movie set to start in a few months, Marvel began searching for a replacement. According to Hollywood gossip expert Daniel Richtman, the candidate to take over the role is Austin Abrams, who, like Yeun, appeared in “The Walking Dead.”

Abrams’ filmography also includes “Let’s Scare Julie,” “Paper Towns,” “Chemical Hearts,” “This Is Where I Leave You,” “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark,” and the series “Euphoria” and “Dash & Lily.”

As reported by Richtman, Abrams has reportedly already received an offer from Marvel Studios to appear in the film as Sentry. So, we await official confirmation.

Who is Sentry?

Sentry is a character who possesses powers similar to Superman’s. His strength is described as equal to that of “a million exploding suns.” One memorable episode featuring him took place in the comic “World War Hulk,” a sequel to “Planet Hulk.” An enraged Hulk returns to Earth, wreaking havoc, and only Sentry can stop him. However, the character is quite dark, plagued by doubts about using such immense power. Therefore, he is not particularly keen on facing Hulk head-on.

What Do We Know About “Thunderbolts”?

“Thunderbolts” will tell the story of a group of villains employed by the U.S. government as a special task force.

The stars of “Thunderbolts” will include Florence Pugh (as Yelena Belova) and Sebastian Stan (as the Winter Soldier). They will be joined by David Harbour (as Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (as U.S. Agent), Hannah John-Kamen (as Ghost), Olga Kurylenko (as Taskmaster), and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine).
