Jerry Seinfeld sugarcoats nothing about the film industry: “It’s finished.”

Jerry Seinfeld was surprised by the dedication with which his collaborators approached their work on his film. He spoke about it in an interview with “GQ”:

People in the film industry are incredible. They’re nuts. We had a prop lady, Trish Gallaher Glenn. Her warehouse was packed to the rafters with toys, bikes, clothes – all from that era. Everyone was giving 150%. It’s so strange. It was totally new to me. I thought I was doing cool stuff, but it had nothing to do with how these people work. They were deadly serious! They have no idea the film industry is finished. They have no idea.

According to Seinfeld, in recent years, cinema has lost its position.

Film no longer holds the same high status in social and cultural hierarchy as it did for most of our lives. Once, when a film hit the screens, if it was good, we all went to see it. We discussed it. We quoted lines from the characters and scenes we liked – he reminisced.

Depression? Feeling bad? I’d say rather confusion. Disorientation has replaced the film industry. Everyone I know in the entertainment industry wonders every day: “What’s happening? How do we do this? What should we do now?” – he summed up.
