First action trailer for the post-apocalyptic frenzy “Furiosa” with Anya Taylor-Joy & Chris Hemsworth

virginiaeranet.com At the Comic-Con Experience in São Paulo, the first teaser trailer for the upcoming action spectacle “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” was revealed.

It has been eight years since Australian filmmaker George Miller surprised the world with his breathless, non-stop chase through the post-apocalyptic wasteland in “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The end-time action film had a lengthy and grueling production spanning 17 years before it saw the light of day.

No one expected a blockbuster at the time, not even stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, who had parted ways amidst a dispute. However, Miller proved everyone wrong and astounded audiences. To this day, “Mad Max: Fury Road” remains unparalleled in vehicular action, surpassing even the “Fast & Furious” franchise. Sometimes, family can’t beat everything. Sometimes, you just need blood and dust.

The reactivated fan base was eagerly anticipating the prequel “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” which, as the title suggests, will focus entirely on the origin story of young Furiosa, long before she becomes the Imperator for the ruthless Immortan Joe. Miller had the idea for this even before the production of “Fury Road” began.

It was Charlize Theron who demanded more than what was written about her character in the script to fully immerse herself in the role. Miller fulfilled her request with a comprehensive background story, essentially a second script. He liked it so much that he planned to film it when the opportunity arose.

Eight years after “Fury Road,” the long-awaited teaser trailer for “Furiosa” was finally unveiled at the Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in São Paulo:

“What a day! What a lovely day!” Fans must be thinking this when they see this magnificent teaser trailer, showcasing what made the previous films with Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky, especially “Fury Road,” so unique: endless dirty landscapes combined with even more swirling dust, dirt, and the black exhaust announcing death on wheels from a distance.

Add to that the distinctive cinematography of Simon Duggan, who previously worked on visual spectacles like “The Great Gatsby” and “300: Rise of an Empire.” There is much beauty hidden beneath all the dust of the wasteland. Duggan took over from “Fury Road” cinematographer John Seale, who, unlike the 78-year-old Miller, has already retired.

“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” features stars in roles one wouldn’t expect “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is designed as a prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road” and will cover a span of 15 years. Fans should not expect another endless chase.

This period will show how the young Furiosa, abducted 45 years after the downfall of civilization from the green place of many mothers, ultimately becomes the feared Imperator of Immortan Joe. But before that, her life belongs to the megalomaniac warlord Dementus. He terrorizes survivors with his biker gang and ignites a gigantic war for the Citadel ruled by Immortan Joe.

In addition to Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth as the villain Dementus, Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Daniel Webber, Nathan Jones, CJ Bloomfield, Rahel Romahn, and Anne-Emilie Perol are seen in supporting roles. The German release date for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is May 23, 2024.
