The horror game “Five Nights at Freddy‘s” will be filmed this year. The first trailer promises you creepy killer animatronics.
In 2014, the indie horror game Five Nights at Freddy’s made waves on the internet. As a new night shift worker at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, you have to survive several nights. That’s not so easy, because the animal animatronics, which amuse the guests during the day, become creepy killers at night. With nine games and numerous books, “Five Nights at Freddy’s” is one of the most popular horror brands. Now the franchise is trying to make the leap to the silver screen. The first teaser trailer gives you a foretaste:
The film also focuses on a security employee who has to defend himself against deadly creatures at night with the help of security cameras and traps. In addition to the teaser trailer, character posters for the various animatronics have also been released:

A “Scream” star is also included
Starring in Five Nights at Freddy’s is Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson. In addition, viewers can look forward to “Scream” star Matthew Lillard. The film comes from director Emma Tammi, who was responsible for the western horror The Wind. The screenplay is by Tammi, Seth Cuddeback (“Mateo”) and Scott Cawthon, the creator of the game series. Fans can therefore hope for an adaptation that is true to the original.
Shortly after the launch of the first game, there were plans to film the story and Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the work. However, production was repeatedly delayed until the project landed at Blumhouse and has been in development there since 2018. The film was originally supposed to start in 2020, but the project went silent again. But it is now certain that “Five Nights at Freddy‘s” will be released in cinemas on October 26, 2023.
