Michael Bolton informed fans about his health in a post on Facebook. In a touching message, he wrote:

“Firstly, I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy new year! I also want to share the unexpected challenges that surprised me in 2023. Just before the holidays, I discovered that I have a brain tumor that requires immediate surgery. Thanks to an amazing team of doctors, the procedure was successful. Currently, with immense love and support from my family, I am recovering at home. Over the next few months, I will devote my energy to getting back to full health, which means I have to take a temporary break from concerts. Disappointing my fans or suspending the tour has always been incredibly difficult for me, but now my priority is recovery and a swift return to performances. I am incredibly grateful for the love and support you have generously given me over the years. Know that I carry your positive messages in my heart, and as soon as I can, I will update you on my condition. Sending lots of love – MB”
