American author R.L. Stine, known for his “Fear Street” novel series, announced on platform X that Netflix is preparing a new film based on his book. It’s going to be an adaptation of the third title in the legendary series, titled “Prom Queen.”
“Fear Street”: “Prom Queen” is Coming
On his account on X, R.L. Stine wrote: Finally, I can announce that the production of a new “Fear Street” movie for Netflix will soon begin. It will be based on my book “Fear Street: Prom Queen.” Great news!
This will be the fourth film in the “Fear Street” series. The previous trilogy, “Fear Street Part 1: 1994,” “Fear Street Part 2: 1978,” and “Fear Street Part 3: 1666,” was released on Netflix in 2021. All parts were interconnected in terms of plot and told the story of a group of teenagers who uncovered terrifying events recurring in their hometown across generations.
What is “Prom Queen” about?
Netflix has not yet confirmed the news of the adaptation, so no more details have been provided. However, we can expect that, like R.L. Stine’s book, the film‘s plot will revolve around the mysterious murders of candidates for the prom queen title. As more girls begin to die, one of them, Lizzie McVay, realizes that she might be next. She has very little time to stop the murderer.
