Disney + presents the young actors who take over the roles of Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase.
Rick Riordan’s books about the demigod Percy Jackson have been popular reading among young people since 2005, and the two films starring Logan Lerman left fans with more taste.
We guess the expectations are pretty high now that Disney + is reviving this fantasy franchise with a new TV series. Not long ago, it became clear that Walker Scobell (the guy in “The Adam Project”) will play Percy, and now the other two main roles are presented.
Variety writes that Aryan Simhadri (most recently in the Disney comedy “Full House”) will play Grover Underwood, a satire – half goat and half human. Leah Sava Jeffries (from the TV series “Empire”) plays Annabeth Chase, daughter of the goddess Athena.
The TV series will follow the 12-year-old hero who learns to deal with his newfound supernatural powers, when the god Zeus accuses him of stealing his thunderbolt. Together with his friends, he embarks on an adventure to find it and restore order in Olympus.
“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will begin filming this summer.
