Every year, CinemaCon in Las Vegas serves as a source of many insights into upcoming movies. The first presentation of this year’s Hollywood studio belonged to Warner Bros. What did we learn about the premieres that we will soon see on the screens?
The industry event CinemaCon, the largest gathering of cinema owners from around the world, provides new information about upcoming premieres every year. Although the screenings are not accessible to the public, descriptions of exclusive promotional materials quickly make their way onto the internet. Yesterday, during the Warner Bros. presentation, attendees were able to watch new trailers for the films “Furiosa,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” and a new project by Bong Joon-ho.
“Furiosa: Mad Max Saga”
The material presented at CinemaCon was divided into three parts. The first showcased a young Furiosa, who, along with her mother, escapes from Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) and his men. Eventually, the underlings capture the girl, leaving the woman for dead.
In the second part, an older Furiosa (now played by Anya Taylor-Joy) recalls the abduction and plans revenge on Dementus. She meets another escapee from his clutches (Tom Burke), who becomes her mentor. He wants to help her rebuild the green sanctuary established by the heroine’s mother.
Finally, Furiosa embarks on her revenge. In addition to chasing Dementus, she flees from other warlords in the wasteland. The heroine achieves her goal but cannot kill the antagonist. Her next opponent is the young Immortal Joe (known from “Mad Max: Fury Road”).
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”
Warner Bros. presented an extended trailer for the film. The character played by Jenna Ortega finds an advertisement promoting Beetlejuice. Lydia (Winona Ryder) will likely have to turn to the titular character for help in bringing her daughter back from the world of the dead. Willem Dafoe portrays a character operating between the realm of the living and the dead, who is not pleased to see Beetlejuice. The trailer also showcased many practical special effects, including stop-motion animation.
“The Watchers”
Ishany Night Shyamalan’s film received a new trailer. The film’s heroine (Dakota Fanning) is a young woman who gets stuck in a forest in remote Ireland during a hike. She discovers that dark forces exist in the forest – monsters that trap people in the woods to play with their fear. None of the trapped individuals have seen the creatures. The remaining trio of characters has been trapped in the forest for a long time, and the monsters constantly subject them to trials. This game has been going on for centuries.

“Trap”
At CinemaCon, the first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller “Trap” was presented. Its protagonist is a father (Josh Hartnett) who, along with his daughter, goes to a stadium for a concert by her favorite artist, Lady Raven. When he leaves the child for a moment and heads towards the restroom, he notices police cordoning off the stadium. An employee of a souvenir shop briefs the protagonist – the concert is a big trap for a murderer known as the Butcher, who kidnaps and kills the singer’s fans.
“Mickey 17”
The first trailer for Bong Joon-ho’s new film, “Mickey 17,” was presented. Robert Pattinson plays the titular character, who travels across the galaxy and takes on various exceptionally difficult jobs. If he makes a mistake and dies, he is replaced by another clone. The action begins when clone number 17 and clone number 18 are created at the same moment.
Among the characters is a colleague of Mickey, played by Steven Yeun, fascinated by his life, as well as a futuristic dictator couple (Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette), who must get rid of the clones at all costs. The duplicated Mickey embarks on a journey through the galaxy to avoid ultimate death.
