Do you want “They” to come back? Apparently, Robert Rodriguez is working on a remake

Is Robert Rodriguez preparing a remake of “They”?

The information that Robert Rodriguez is supposed to be working on a remake of the horror film “They” was shared on Daniel Richtman’s Patreon. According to his words, the director of the original will serve as a producer. As of now, this news has not been confirmed, and Rodriguez himself has not commented on the matter, so it should be taken with caution.

“They” hit the cinema screens in November 1998, starring Elijah Wood, Jordana Brewster, Clea DuVall, Josh Hartnett, Salma Hayek, Robert Patrick, Famke Janssen, and Piper Laurie. Watch the trailer:

Robert Rodriguez made his debut in 1992 with the film “El Mariachi.” He won the Independent Spirit Award and the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival for it. Three years later, he brought the Hollywood remake “Desperado” to the big screen, starring the iconic duo Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, which brought the director international fame. His filmography includes both B-movie-style action films and horror movies (“From Dusk Till Dawn,” “Sin City,” “Grindhouse: Planet Terror,” “Machete,” “Machete Kills”) as well as family films (the “Spy Kids” series). Noteworthy works also include “The Misbehavers,” his segment in “Four Rooms,” and the James Cameron-inspired “Alita: Battle Angel.” His latest film is the sci-fi thriller “Hypnotic.” Fans are still hopeful for the return of Machete in the long-awaited sequel “Machete Kills in Space,” announced years ago.
