Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate and David Faustino once again become the Bundy family.
The 90s are back whether we like it or not. Another comedy series is now being reported on its way to a revival. “Our worst years” will return – in animated format.
Fans will, however, recognize themselves. The Bundy family is played again by Ed O’Neill (as the shoe salesman Al), Katey Sagal (as the housewife Peggy), Christina Applegate (as the stupid blonde daughter) and David Faustino (as the horny son).
The TV series began rolling in 1987 and went against the usual sitcom clichés by portraying a generally whiny and unsuccessful family. The daring humor received its fair share of criticism from more conservative viewers, writes Entertainment Weekly, but that is perhaps also what made “Our worst years” a pop cultural phenomenon that was broadcast for 11 seasons.

How Al Bundy’s gross jokes go home in today’s slightly more sensitive society remains to be seen … Sony Pictures Television is currently trying to sell the series to various television companies and streaming services. Alex Carter (producer on “Family Guy”) becomes showrunner.
