The first teaser for the film about Amy Winehouse has appeared online. In the biography dedicated to the tragically deceased artist, “Back to Black. The Story of Amy Winehouse,” the main role is played by Marisa Abela (“Industry”).

“Back to Black” was created in collaboration with the heirs of Amy Winehouse. The project was prepared by Studiocanal, and the screenplay is by Matt Greenhalgh, who already has a number of film biographies to his credit. He wrote, among others, “Control” and “The Real Story of the King of Scandals,” as well as the film “John Lennon: The Boy from Nowhere.”
Behind the camera of the project is Sam Taylor-Johnson. Her filmography includes “John Lennon: The Boy from Nowhere” (2009), “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015), and “A Million Little Pieces” (2018). On screen, we will see Jack O’Connell (“Lady Chatterley’s Lover”), Eddie Marsan (“The Fortune Game”), and Lesley Manville (“Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris”).

Who was Amy Winehouse?
Amy Winehouse was a British singer who created music combining elements of soul, jazz, and R&B. She was a winner of several awards, including Grammy and Brit Awards. Her greatest fame came with the album “Back to Black,” which featured songs such as “Rehab” and “You Know I’m No Good.” The singer struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. She died in 2011 at the age of 27.
